The End Of Toxicity!
Finally, it's all over...
These past few months have been very hectic. After a short vacation in the beautiful province of Cebu and Bohol (where I met up with one of AP's very own, Isteb). Life became a little "toxic" for me, so to speak.
My Groups
My Friends
About Me
I'm the tallest guy in the photo. This is my 3rd year batch pic. Surgery training takes five years (meaning, you're a slave to the hospital for that five years of your life). If you must know, I'm 6'3<
I'm a surgeon-in-training at one of the biggest and busiest hospitals in the Philippines. Most of my time is spent on assisting in surgeries, reading textbooks and taking exams. And although the right side of my brain (the logical side), has been working over time, it's only recently that I was able to tap my sleeping left side (the artistic side).
I've always appreciated art, in most of its forms. I also regard anime as an art form more than entertainment.
I've encountered AP a few years back, and sadly, I was a leecher. Getting my grubby hands on the beautiful walls the original members here have made. It took me more than 5 years (since college) to finally try my hand at contributing to the community. I bought several video tutorials on Photoshop, read tons of articles on the net, and experimented incessantly. Then I took informal lessons on the VMP Dominatrix, Nysha, who is also one of the first senior members to comment on my early works.
Now, I have some works that I can share to everyone and I hope to make more as time goes by.

No photo gigs yet, although I'm working on retouching a few pics and updating my portfolio. I'm working ony buying a new camera, too.
I'd recommend "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson. It covers the basics of photography. I was able to download an ebook for free, but it was so good that I just went ahead and bought a paperback copy anyway. It's written in a straightforward, easy-to-understand and often funny manner. To this day I still go back to it when I feel like I need a refresher.
"P" is for "Pao" and "M" stands for "Medyo naughty". Hahaha hinde, P or Program Mode is a step up from full automatic while M is for full manual. Though when I shoot casually, I usually stick with AV (Adult Video). I reserve M for those times when I'm shooting in the studio, shooting with flash or when I'm shooting under tricky lighting situations (Indoors with low light, concerts, backlit subjects). I'd suggest sticking with M when starting out to help you better understand the relationship between f-stop(Aperture), ISO and shutter speed.
My cousin and I plan to go there just for the heck of it. I plan on going there with no set itenerary, no set place to stay, just go there and let things happen naturally. Come what may kumbaga.
I'd love to meet other APPLE members, though it seems the only active member left is JD, and he hasn't been active all that much.
and oh yeah... standing next to you I look so short. XD which reminds me of a quick tip: to make short people look tall, shoot from a lower angle, like say, waist level. Tom cruise is quite short; almost all shots of him are shot at a low angle. Same deal with Daniel Radcliffe.
And I hope to see your wall soon; I've been meaning to create a couple of walls but I've been too busy.

Sounds awesome! Great to hear from you again. Singapore, huh? I wish you good luck! Actually, my friends call me "isteb" so it's all good.
Apart from the usual sight seeing, I've been running a lot lately. It allows me to encounter more "sights" as opposed to sitting down. Kaya lang just a few weeks ago nagka-injury ako, shin splits 'ata tawag sa injury ko.
Nice to hear you got yourself a camera; I haven't tried my hands on a 4/3rds system yet, might be interesting.
And I knew you would like madoka! Can't wait to see that wall when it's done.
Maybe by December my cousin and I will visit Manila. I'll keep you posted until then. :)

Pao my friend, I'm sorry to hear about your mother. How is she doing? And feel free to ask, my friend. You know what, PM me your email and I'll send you some notes on color theory.

(for my AP friends...)hey there! its been a while since I last commented on someone's userpage... I haven't been doing anything right these days! :P
just wanted to share to you that I'm busy on many things and its mainly on high school graduation... we're busy practicing and our awaited day will be on April 7 :)
after the earthquake in Japan, the earthquake is threatening the Philippines... scary! D: we're busy arranging our stuffs hoping they won't get damaged from the earthquake...
setting that aside, I'm happy that my college course is related to editing stuffs, so I guess I can finally make such AP-worthy walls and not my usual crappy ones! :P (hopefully~)
thanks for being one of my most memorable friends in AP! :)) ^^

Hey bro, I was also quite busy during the weekend. I had to do 14-hour photoshoots for four days straight. I got home yesterday.
Like you, I'm as dead as a log. I'm doing a mural right now and hopefully I can get around to finishing an infinite stratos vector before the show ends.

I'd recommend going to club ultima and trying the edge coaster and the skywalk. There are also some zip lines you might want to try. But we usually spend our time going to The Outpost, a place where local bands like Urbandub and Franco used to chill in. There's a lot of talent in that place; most of the time the members of the crowd are musicians themselves.
You should try CnT Lechon; It's heavenly. Same deal with Balamban Liempo.
But you'd also best hit a few beaches while you're there.
And yeah it's pretty funny how davaoenos mix up tagalog and bisaya. I have a couple of cousins from davao and they do that a lot.

seriously?
Well, I hope I'll be in Cebu by then and not in some remote location.
Let's hope they'll give you a bit of free time. How many times have you been to Cebu? If you're not familiar with the place, I can be your tour guide.
I myself hope to visit Davao this year. I'm guessing that while you can only speak a little bisaya, you can understand a great deal of it.
Let me know if the conference is gonna be final. Like I said, beer, coffee, pizza, local bands or any combination of those. :)

No, not really since most of the other members are located in Luzon.
If they'd drop by Cebu then that would be awesome and I'd buy everyone coffee/beer/pizza/whatever they want. I swear.

Well, hindi naman dahil sa hindi umappeal sa mga tao, more like binago ksi ang rating system, I mean yung calculation ng wallpaper ratings kaya yun lng inabot.
As usual busy sa school kaya nga yung latest wallpaper ko way back last december pa eh.

be sure not to burn yourself out in the process, though!

PP how are ya? I saw your wall over at MT but not here in AP T.T I think is that's because of the categories? We don't have crossover category here in AP... only in MT....

Yeah most probably because the first quarter is an unbelievably busy time.
You have to party hard during the New Year's and jump back to backlog work very soon after. Then midterms gets cramped during the first few weeks of school, you have thesis defense not soon after and then final exams for the 1 bajillion minor subjects.
But if there's one item of recreation you should insert bro, I have to recommend the Bollywood film 3 idiots if you haven't seen it already. (for the benefit of other people reading comments on your page, I'll go ahead and describe it.) It's not a cinematic masterpiece like Godfather or Citizen Kane, mind you, it's got the obligatory dancing and singing typical of a Bollywood film. But it's a work of art that inspires you to align your life, follow your dreams and remind you that life is worth living. Heck, i'll even go so far as to say that it's the most inspiring film I've seen since Dead Poets' Society.
Give yourself a break, bro. You deserve it. Kick back, call your friends (or your special friend) over, grab a bottle of wine and treat yourself to break.

HEY BRO!
(kicks the door open)
How have you been? It's been a while, excellent wallpaper by the way. It must have been a huge mental, physical and not to mention emotional effort on your part. I am happy to see it has found its place in the gallery.
chat me up, bro. I'm just chilling.

Heya Pao, it's been forever since we last spoke.
I just got a chance to come online and I saw your recent submission and my gosh. I'm simply amazed at how you are constantly pushing yourself and the standard of walling forward as well. You've grown immensely as an artist and while I don't have the time to comment, I really wish I could. It's truly incredible what you've done and I just wanted to say thanks for it. Believe it or not, but your a huge inspiration.
Have a wonderful week!

Hi! Thanks for your message. Am I really an institution here? I don't think, but it's nice to tell me that! I know I'm rather fast to create my walls, but I wall as I draw, and I draw fast since allways. I use Photoshop CS3, Gimp, and a very old software Microsoft Photo Premium.
Have a nice day!
